Homeschool Mom Outfits: What I Wore – Week 3

Homeschool Mom Outfits: What I Wore – Week 3

Week 3 of real homeschool mom outfits… real life, real clothes, real chaos. For homeschool moms who want to feel good without overthinking it.

This week had its moments. Here’s what I wore.

MONDAY

Full Homeschool Day + Speech Therapy

THE OUTFIT:

THE DAY:

One of those solid, full homeschool days where we actually got through everything on the list. Math, reading, all of it and then speech therapy in the afternoon. Nothing glamorous, just the good kind of productive.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

LET’S TALK:

This is one of my “we have things to do and places to be and I still want to feel like myself” outfit. The charcoal tank has a really nice shape to it; it’s not clingy, just floaty enough to make athletic wear feel intentional, but still max comfort. The burgundy shorts are the perfect length and the color is such a good alternative to basic black. And these sneakers? My favorite shoes right now. The purple and orange combo sounds wild but they go with more than you’d think.

WHAT THE BOYS SAID:

“Are you going somewhere?” “No.” “Oh.” (Back to Minecraft.)

TUESDAY

Homeschool, FaceTime Italian Class, Evening Karate

THE OUTFIT:

THE DAY:

Homeschool in the morning, then my FaceTime Italian class while the boys attempted independent work (keyword: attempted). Evening karate to round it out. This outfit had to carry me through all of it… it did.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

LET’S TALK:

The white tank + black skirt combo is giving sporty spice energy.. The athletic skirt has built-in shorts underneath so I can sit on the floor, run around, do whatever without a second thought. The white muscle tank is simple but it’s cut really well, it doesn’t feel shapeless on you the way a lot of basics do. Throw on the white sneakers and chunky white socks and it’s a complete look with zero effort.

WHAT THE BOYS SAID:

“Why do you always wear a skirt to karate?” “I’m not AT karate.” “You’re at karate.”

WEDNESDAY

Homeschool, Speech Therapy, Parkour

THE OUTFIT:

THE DAY:

Homeschool morning, speech therapy, then parkour… which means I spent an hour watching small humans hurl themselves off things while trying to look and remain calm. This outfit survived all three without complaint.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

LET’S TALK:

I wasn’t really sure about the cropped tee with the wide-leg culottes… but I think it worked! The pink graphic tee hits right at the waistband so everything feels balanced. The culottes are SO comfortable, lightweight, pockets, no wrinkling even after a full day of sitting and moving. The platform sneakers add a little height without being uncomfortable. This is a good “I want to look like I tried but I didn’t try that hard” outfit.

WHAT THE BOYS SAID:

“Mom you look like a mushroom.” I’m choosing to believe it was a compliment… they do love mushrooms!

THURSDAY

Day Off Homeschool, Playdate with Friends, Evening Karate

THE OUTFIT:

THE DAY:

We took the day off from official school and it was exactly what we all needed. Playdate with friends in the afternoon, the boys ran wild, I actually had a conversation with other adults, then karate in the evening. The sweatshirt was perfect for this exact energy.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

LET’S TALK:

The striped sweatshirt is oversized in the best possible way, it has a red ribbed hem and cuffs that make it feel form fitting, rather than just sloppy… also, max comfort again, this week had a theme! Paired with the black leggings it’s the ultimate cozy-but-cute combo. This is what I reach for on the days when I need comfort AND I still want to look like a human being. The white sneakers + chunky socks are the finishing touch that makes the whole thing feel pulled together.

WHAT THE BOYS SAID:

“You look cozy.” That’s it. That’s all I needed to hear.

FRIDAY

Homeschool, Speech, Karate

THE OUTFIT:

THE DAY:

Back to the full Friday lineup including homeschool, speech therapy, and karate. Three things, one day, one outfit. The overalls were doing all of the work and I have zero complaints.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

LET’S TALK:

This is the fave of the week. The olive overalls are wide-leg with a gathered front bodice and they are co cute in person, the color is this muted earthy green that seem to go with everything. I layered the white long-sleeve underneath and it was perfect. The dark mary janes are such a good shoe, the mesh detail makes them feel fashion-forward without being uncomfortable. This outfit made me feel put together.

WHAT THE BOYS SAID:

“Are those a dress or pants?” “…yes.” They accepted this.

WEEK 3 RECAP

MOST WORN ITEMS:

FAVORITE OUTFIT: Friday’s olive overalls. No contest.

MOST VERSATILE PIECE: The striped sweatshirt. Cozy enough for a slow homeschool morning, put-together enough to walk out the door without second-guessing yourself.

LESSON LEARNED: Culottes are criminally underrated. Wednesday’s outfit was a pleasant surprise and I’ll be revisiting that combo.
